I've just made a lengthy post on my blog that might interest some visitors of TMP – it's a rundown of some ideas for 28mm models of Mobile Infanry in powered armour….

Feel free to drop by and share any other ideas for alternative models!

I always thought AT-43 Karmens with different heads would fit the bill of "encephalitic gorillas"

I, unfortunately, discovered the RT-01 "beakie" marine fig's shortly after reading ST for the first time, and Marine armor is indelably stuck in my imagination as MI powered armor, minus all the skulls and other gothic crud stuck all over any GW Imperial mini… get rid of the chestplate decorations, purity seals, and other skulls & such, and they make good MI stand-ins…

I'm a huge fan of using Hobby Products Cybertech for SST Marines
(now carried by EM4, mostly…)

Only problem is that they are mighty small for 28mm; they scale better as 'true 25mm'..
Only a problem if you mix 'em with other companies stuff.
Personally: I think its actually an asset versus most bug minis.

I actually like Khurasan's best – good old school vibe, right combination of weapons, price is right to field a full platoon, and they look like it would be easy to modify them to represent scout or command suits.

The cobblestone castings one is also available from eM-4 and they have separate arms which helps with the converting.

Cheers for the additional ideas guys – keep them coming!

@CATenWolde – I'm probably torn between the Komodo and the Khurasan Strike Infantry… The Khurasan models certainly have a charm of their own; they look like they have jumped right off of the cover of a 1960s printing of Starship Troopers (which is a really good thing!)

@ Volstagg and Retzlaffmd – mmm, bit small for my vision of the MI. I envision them as being hulking, really big suits.

@ Ron W DuBray – nice find, I've seen that before. It looks a lot like the Komodo from Antenociti, so maybe it'd mix well. But I've also read that particular range is notorious for delays in releases, so I'm not holding my breath….!

The Grizzly is now available as an Apocalypse Judge for Judge Dredd Miniatures Game. Mongoose did a little resculpting of it.

This will be available from Puppet's War in the future:
