Call of Cthulhu set during Ancient Rome.

Funny you bring this up! I'm reading Chaosium's "The Scroll Of Thoth" anthology featuring Richard Tierney's Cthulhu Mythos-battling swordsman/sorcerer Simon of Gitta (aka Simon Magus), and I'm probably going to download "Cthulhu Invictus" from DriveThru later this week. I'm not sure I'll use BRP, though. (Nothing against it, it's just too crunchy for my busy schedule.) I'll probably use it to convert to Savage Worlds/Realms of Cthulhu. The rules in Realms of Cthulhu allows you to run a more action-oriented Cthulhu campaign with a gentler sanity system as opposed to the standard "Dark Spiral" campaign with its gritty damage and sanity options.

Just the thing for Lovecraftian Sword & Sandals ack-shen!

I ran a game of it for my brother for his birthday last February. It was a lot of fun, and we all had a great time!

I ran a "tester" adventure one afternoon that all enjoyed. However, I don't have the time to commit to a campaign (yet).

There is a very enjoyable campaign posted online in the form of recordings off the games nights.

That's a link to our games. Unfortunately it has been put on hiatus indefinitely. :(
