Funny how you see more SU Regiments than actual Tankovy battalions running around. You'd think they rode SU's into Berlin and T-34/85's were rare sights.

Interesting fight none the less.

Thanks for sharing.

At least you kinda got close! Nice to see StuGs kicking butt – in my experience they die in droves.

With reference to 1 Battalion, 1441 SU regiment, I think the SU regiments were structured as follows:

HQ: 1 X T-34/assault gun
4 x company: each with 5 assault guns.

Batallions were not used in this instance (just like divisions weren't used in Tank and Mechanised Corps).

SU regiments were sometimes grouped in brigades, each consisting of 3 regiments for a total of about 65 assault guns.

They were also not as far as I am aware issued reconnaissance batallions – only a recce platoon.

Also I think 1441st had been requipped with Su-76M in 1944 (orbat is for 1/8/43) but I could be wrong.

Gottmittuns205,

SU-122 is far superior in FOW than T-34 due to 122mm gun bypassing infantry/gun saves and if stationary, re-rolling missed hits within 16 inches with a Rate of Fire of 2.

Realistically Su-122 should be Rate of Fire 1, just like ISU-122, IS-152, IS-2 and Su-100.

Poor old Su-76 is overpriced junk.

"Funny how you see more SU Regiments than actual Tankovy battalions" Well, you see far more Tigers than historicaly existed in most WWII miniature games. And Pershings, and ISU's etc. We will take what works. I built this Regiment to kill infantry, which was a problem with my first 2 FOW forces.
