I checked it out from a local library last year. On a related note, I picked up "Katyn 1940: The Documentary Evidence of the West's Betrayal" a few months ago and it is working its way to the top of my reading list. |

I'm not sure how the West 'Betrayed' anyone. Were we supposed to cut off the Russians when we found out about this, from the Nazis? Sometimes during a war hard decisions have to be made. Churchill was forced to allow the bombing of Coventry in order not to give up the fact that we had broken the German codes. |

The West (France and Great Britain, and more or less the USA) could have brought up the occupying of Poland. The USSR close to this time also took over a part of Finland without a peep from the Wet. When I see something that interests me the more I want to read/see more about it. Would probably love to read that as well. |

When Poland was occupied there were the usual protests. It's one of the reasons that things looked so bleak for the Brits when France fell. At the time it was assumed it was the UK against all of Europe because the Soviet occupation of Poland. When the Germans revealed to the world what had happened at Katyn what were we supposed to do? Should we have cut off the Russians so that the only 'ally' we had would stop getting weapons and supplies? |
