To judge by the stone throwers, somebody just said "Jehov…Ouch!!!"

It's such a shame that this sort of set isn't made in 28mm. Cheers, Simon

Altantic used to have some chained lion victims in their gladiator set

I suggested to Warlord Games they do a crucifixion vignette, consisting of an auxiliary spear man looking up holding spear two-handed looking awed & an auxiliary centurion going "Surely this man was the Son of Gaaawdd…" & 2 distraught Jewish women… but as of yet they haven't.

If you think such a set would be a good idea, tell them. I'd sculpt it myself but I find chainmail a pain.

Just kidding about the lions comment above.

@Coopersteve: There's a cool statue of centurion Longinus in the transept of St. Peter's Basilica that would serve as a good model. I don't remember the armor well – probably overly stylized.

I have not seen Steve Barber's 25mm Gladiators line subset of "Christians Praying (pack of 6)." It is quite curiously the ONLY set within his line of 25mm Gladiators that he does NOT show on his website!!!

I am TOLD that his 25mm figures are "un-heroic," which is to say, really 25mm and not "heroic" (i.e., no scale creep). Indeed, Steve's figures may even be somewhat "wimpy," even by 25mm standards…

Anyone have any pictures of these prayerful folks!!??? money

I could be tempted to sculpt these in 28 – what exactly do people want?

CooperSteveOnTheLaptop22 May 2013 3:53 a.m. PST

Space Vixens do a 'traditional Jesus' figure in 28 by the way.

CooperSteveOnTheLaptop22 May 2013 3:54 a.m. PST

I'd like an authentically-styled St-Martin & the beggar vignette

Oh Dear.

24 figs ? I wonder if that will be all that Comes in the set or it will be 48 (2 sprues of each) because some look usefull for conversions. Bit of greenstuff/ snipping and some will be useable as Medieval peasants.

I'm pondering sculpting a miniature based on the Palatine Graffito (Or even realise this as a much lsarger bronze casting.)

Not a wargaming project

In any flea market in a catholic country (France, etc) you can find small old crucifixes with Jesus on them. Some are nearly exactly the right scale, and very cheap.

I have one in a 28mm church.
(Don't tell my 81 years-old mother, she would probably be shocked).

CooperSteveOnTheLaptop29 May 2013 6:06 a.m. PST

Catholic crucifixs feature palm nailing. Totally inaccurate
