Rudi: I have figures for Ridgeway but in 15mm. Most of my QOR and Hamilton soldiers wear the pork pie and are simply Maori War figures. Others have Austrian shako head swaps from 1866 that have been altered. Hope this helps you in your 28mm quest.

Meine freund, have you looked at the Empress minis New Zealand wars line further to Prince Albert's comments?

I think these may be pretty close, notably as the forage cap was as noted very commonly worn

Rudi: I used 15mm Sicilian and Pontifical infantry (Risorgimento) for their shakos (just ordered some more as a matter of fact). I would imagine that you could find similar shakos in 28mm and the headswaps would be even easier.

I hanker to game the Fenian Invasion. If anyone does proper Canadians I'll have to buy them. (28mm)

Frederick,

Sorry but excellent figures though they are the Empress 1st New Zealand War figures are inappropriate for the Battle of Ridgeway.

There are no dedicated 28mm figures available for the Fenian Raids period as far as I am aware, thus the only choices seem to be using certain figures from Indian Mutiny and Maori wars ranges. The good news in this context is that there are a number of Indian Mutiny ranges (Foundry, Old Glory, Dixon, Mutineer & AW Miniatures) and a couple for 1860s Maori Wars (Old Glory and Eureka).

Ken Cliffe from All the King's Men has inspired me to hack away at AIP 54mm Plastics Egyptians to make both The Scarlet Runners and the Quickest Outta Ridgeway. If you go on his website, he shows the figures.

Some figs from RAFM Northwest Rebellion range could be used.

If the Perrys did the Canadians they'd tie in well with their ACW for Fenians…

Pendraken have a range of 10mm 1860s Canadian militia/British regulars for the Fenian Wars. Apparently these are by the same sculptor as their ACW range. There are also plans to do some armed figures in civilian dress to supplement the ACW figures as Fenians and also Canadian Home Guard. But as Rudi's original question concerned Foundry I assume he is wedded to to 28mm.
