I need help TMP. US police vehicles in 1:87 scale are horrifically expensive on eBay in the UK and they are hard to find too.

What do you folks use for your 15mm scale US police vehicles?

Any help hugely appreciated.

In the US the 1/87 ones come in a variety of price points from Model Railroad suppliers.

Take a look at Model Power Minis. Model Power is a name brand for HO scale railroad stuff. They make a lot of cars. I think they tend to run around $5 USD or $6 USD (I'm not an expert in this). Pretty sure they make a lot of them and you might find something.

A lot of people also use Matchbox and Hot Wheels.

I 2d the matchbox & hotwheels – lots of cop cars and such produced by them over the years

I always find that Hotwheels and Matchbox cars are really oversized compared to 15mm figures. The trucks are a good scale though.

Hotwheels, matchbox and some of the cheap versions at the 99c stores and thrift shops work well imo.

What figures are you planning to use with them and does the height of bases need to be considered in your decision?

What's your limit for "horrifically expensive?"

There are a number of the Busch 1:87 police cars on Amazon, starting at £4.50 GBP
(Although it looks like all of them are "Only 1 in stock".. hmm…)

The problem is once you add the total rip off postage (both Royal Mail and USPS have raised their prices to outrageous levels) it suddenly gets silly.

Are there any train/railroad shows you can go to? That will save you the cost of postage and let you see what is out there. I try to hit a train show or two a year just to see what I can poach for miniature gaming.

I've been trying to find police cars for 1930s for 28mm figures. Those have been just as hard to find as what Spendlove seeks.

Model Power for HO scale railroad…about 4 bucks each…Matchbox are to big.
