Essex has been around now for donkey's years and has, in my experience, provided consistent, excellent customer service, quality figures with an extensive selection of ranges and clean cast, well-detailed figures. Sometimes the proportions seem a bit off but I've never really had any concerns. I have their figures in a number of armies and they probably make up about 60% of my collection of around 25000 15mm figures. Anyway, after receiving another order of their figures, some prepainted as requested and in very short order, I thought I give them the public credit they so well deserve. A cornerstone of the hobby and certainly one of the most reliable manufacturers out there. Well done, Essex. |

I agree whole heartedly! They are the bedrock on which my hobby collection is built.

In my opinion, Essex was the forerunner of the "quality 25mm" revolution. Previously, I had painted and enjoyed Minifigs, Hinchliffe, Lamming, etc. They were
gaming pieces. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Essex were the first of the "heroic" 25mm which later became 28mm. They actually looked like PEOPLE, which is more than can be said for some of their contemporaries. I still have the HYW and WoR figures, and I have never seen better. And, they were first done in the early 1980s! |

Hear hear! The feudal and HYW lines are still some of the best after 25 years. |

Essex Miniatures hold a very dear place in my affection for miniature figures. IMHO they led the way in the 1980s and that is why we have the likes of the Perry's, Paul Hicks, Hasselfree, etc., etc. Marvellous ranges.

I have always liked Essex figures for how clean of a figure they are. They have really become my standard for comparing other figures to. I own many and look forward to ordering more

I still use them a lot for my 15mm and 28mm collections (mostly feudal and other medieval). I miss the days of Wargames Inc with Johnson Hood here in the US. They always brought the entire collection to the big cons and mail order was superb. Allen |

Visited their shop/factory yesterday and they still have loads of cracking figures that are up there with the best available today. |

Their early 80's range of 25mm Renaissance Spanish were stunning. The heart of my ECW armies are Essex. I agree they led the way for quality 25mm figures |

They need pics of their 15mm ranges on their site. I hate no pics. Other than that, great company and service. |

I still use Essex to finish off 25/28mm units – particularly 30 figure OG bags that need to end up as 32 or 36! They mix well both up and down the scale which can't be said for many others. What I don't like is their pricing. It's like Foundry – why on earth charge more than most – for 25 year old designs? |

Is there another distributor in the states besides Wargames? |
