The photo showing his face in profile shows a good likeness to Antoine-Jean Gros' painting of Bonaparte at the Bridge at Arcole I think. link |

I wonder if it's another copy or is it the same one I saw on diplay at Les Invilides in Paris. I can't believe the French would let their copy be sold. |

It's probably recast from the original death mask – could have been made anytime during the last 190 years. If it were THE original mask, wouldn't the expected price be a lot higher? |
