Yes they are suppose to hit sometime in June.

Yes they will be overpriced but everything from GW is so that is not new.

But you can post your rumors here.

As a NON Eldar player this is something I am looking forward too.
Been Playing against the same style Eldar troops since 98'

No rumors, but I'm sure the Wraithguard will get new plastics, and those chopper jetbikes which some people like will be replaced with the sleeker design more akin to the Dark Eldar Reavers.

I'm glad Eldar is next, but it won't do my wallets any favors since I just recently spent so much money on all those new Tau goodies.

I always loved the Eldar when I played 40K.I didnt win,but to me they looked the coolest.

Not an Elder player but it will give my Baneblade and Riptide some new targets

Garand17 May 2013 9:34 p.m. PST

Eldar are my first and oldest 40K army. Rumors I've seen have been plastic wraithguard, plastic (new) jetbikes, plastic WraithKnight (bigger than a wraithlord, smaller than a titan), and finally a dual build flyer of some sort. Looking forward to it!

Damon.

TurnStyle18 May 2013 1:50 p.m. PST

I played Eldar for about fifteen years…and half of the models weren't changed in that time period. Truly one of the most disregarded races for some reason.

AWuuuu19 May 2013 3:23 p.m. PST

Plastic farseer is very nice, but he looks just like current metal one just in plastic. Its Ok but could be better.

But i am not to keen on big wraith robot thing.. It looks like cross breed between Riptide and Eldar titan

The late Rogue Trader era Jes Goodwin designs were the pinnacle of Eldar design (WD 127). Slightly earlier were the single-piece troopers/pirates were the best for use as Guardians. The original Aspect Warriors are still the best.

"Eldar are my first and oldest 40K army."

The same with me.

I picked up my first Eldar back in 1988 and I picked up the Harlequins in 1990 and when White Dwarf 127 came out I got even more.

Very foot Heavy and Guardian Heavy which for years have not been all that good.

So not interested in any of the new stuff since I have so many now.

billthecat20 May 2013 8:45 a.m. PST

Plastic/finecast miniatures for wonky premium/metal prices (or more)… revisions of troops and concepts that have been around for 20+ years… No thanks. I have always been an Eldar fan, however… ditched my harlequins and aspect warriors many moons ago, somewhat foolishly. The great thing about Eldar is they merit some interesting/colorful paint-jobs and detailing.

The Bebop20 May 2013 11:22 a.m. PST

I'd put money on a bet that they don't update the warp spiders. Those are the same sculpts that came out when I was in junior high. They have to be close to twenty years old by now.

CorpCommander20 May 2013 12:48 p.m. PST

Tau with SM and Eldar allies could be a mighty combination. However I've heard that Tau plus Ork allies is a real winner though a bit odd I think.

Lion in the Stars20 May 2013 12:50 p.m. PST

I dunno, I really LIKE the old sculpts. The Phoenix Lords haven't changed at all since the mid-90s.

Just wish the Wraithlord would go down to T6 and 3-4 wounds like the big bugs. T8 because of a drunken bet? Seriously?!?

Mithmee20 May 2013 5:24 p.m. PST

Well I found out what the new prices are and GW has set a new record.

"Here is the list that saw today (all prices USD)

Here are the Eldar releasing on June 1st

Eldar Codex – $49.50 USD
Eldar LE Codex – $100 USD
WH40K PSYCHIC POWERS: ELDAR ENG – $7.50 USD
Farseer – $20 USD
Wraithknight – $115 USD
Wraithguard – $50 USD
Hemlock Wraithfighter – $65 USD
Dire Avengers (5 pack) – $35 USD
Battleforce – $115 USD
Windrider Jetbike Squadron – $40 USD
Spiritseer – $19.25 USD
Illic Nightspear – $19.25 USD
IYANDEN: A CODEX ELDAR SUPPLEMENT – $49.50 USD
IYANDEN CODEX SUPPLEMENT SPECIAL EDITION – $85 USD"

That is right the new Wraithknight will cost as much as the battle force.

The Dire Avengers have been drop down to a box of 5 for the same price that you can get 10 now. So $7.00 USD per plastic model.

Oh and you can buy a Limited Edition Codex for $100. USD

There is nothing on this list that I want.

Sargonarhes21 May 2013 3:55 p.m. PST

They just made DP9's Heavy Gear prices look reasonable once again.

Cergorach22 May 2013 6:58 a.m. PST

I would like to point out that the Wraithknight is a 9" tall plastic monstrosity. Folks were estatic about the release of the Dreamforge Eisenkern Leviathan Crusader, which is 8.5" and has a MSRP of $120 USD vs. $115 USD for the GW Wraithknight.

The Crusader has only two weapons, a right arm gun and a left arm sword. I know that during the KS we got more stuff, a left gun arm, an additional sword, a different backpack and the prices were lower. But the KS is over and this is the MSRP people will have to pay (or not) for the Crusader. The Crusader is a very complex, detailed, flexible and well put together kit, I doubt the Wraithknight will come close to that. But the Wraithknigth does come with more weapon options then the Crusader and it'll be available from everywhere you can buy GW from (while Dreamforge is only available at select stores)…

That said, I think that the Wraithknight is very uninspired, it looks to much like an upscaled Wraithlord, a tiny head and some additional weapons strapped on. The FW titan designs were far better, still had that Eldar feel but without being an exact copy of the previous (smaller) generation.

Honestly, pretty much the entire new Eldar lineup looks a bit uninspired to me, which is disappointing being a 25 year fan of the Eldar… The flyers look like 90īs low quality toys (I could hear myself shouting "COBRA!"), the wraithguard with axes look like firemen, the Spiritseer is a bit Meh…

No new bikes as far as I know…

billthecat22 May 2013 2:45 p.m. PST

@Mithmee: HOLY CR@P!

This stuff is just not worth that kind of money…
Remember: these are sprues of assembled plastic and 'uberresin' bits… 5 dire avengers is what, one sprue?
But, if someone is buying it….
Okay… back to our original discussion of Eldar…

I always liked the warwalkers.

Mithmee22 May 2013 6:27 p.m. PST

Right now Dire Avengers on in a box of 10 plastic figures for $35. USD

Once the above kicks in they will be in a box of 5 plastic figures for $35. USD

So now they are $3.50 USD per figure (still overprice)

In the future they will be $7.00 USD per figure.

Oh and due to Guardians being crap and that is not like to change once the Codex comes out Dire Avengers will be the Troop choice of most Eldar players.

So this reboxing is nothing but GW stealing money from their customers.

Now there is suppose to be a new Rending type rule for the S. Catapults with the Codex. All hits on a 6 mean no armor save if they wound.

But since GW is not like to give back any range to the Guardian's S. Catapults (now 12" and likely to remain at this) they will still have the worst Infantry weapon in the game.

Yes it can wound things but it has no range.

So they are still going to be crap.

Plus the stupid Force Composition Chart screws them over since it limits the number of troop choices to just SIX and you have to take a minimum of two.

So Eldar players will do just that and take the bare minimum two choices. These will ususally be Dire Avengers unless they take one of the new special characters who can make certain Aspect Warriors troops.

Warwalkers are very good in 6th Edition, give them two Scatter Lasers and they may be one of the units that might be getting Skyfire so they may be able to target flyers.

If this is the case they will tear flyers to pieces.

Take a look at the below pic I have the bottom three figures (actually I have all of these figures). So they can be used as the new Spiritseer.

Because I will never buy a Finecast Resin figure ever.

picture

I got my first Eldar in July of 1988 and after White Dwarf 127 came out the army grew.

So now it has well over 170+ infantry models and probably close to 190 total models.

So I really do not need to buy anything.

Admiral Yi Sun Sin is my Homie23 May 2013 2:09 p.m. PST

I don't need to buy any of the new either. I love the old Eldar. Mine is a mix of new and old. The older I get the more I like my early acquisitions but not the brush work!

Mithmee23 May 2013 6:51 p.m. PST

Same here and that is why I strip the paint off of my Eldar.

Going to go with a triad paint combo.

Purple, Orange & Teal

link

Armor will be Purple & Orange and the weapons will be Teal.

Even the Aspects will use this.

So something like this but using Orange instead of grey.

Gunner Dunbar24 May 2013 5:11 a.m. PST

Have to find the right figures to convert myself a 15mm Elder army, which will cost me about 50c a figure.

Rothgar24 May 2013 7:59 a.m. PST

Blue Moon has a few GWI lines that would work for 15mm Eldar.

Gunner Dunbar24 May 2013 4:03 p.m. PST

Yeah they would be my first option.
