So I recently finished Old Man's War. I rather enjoyed it. Warning this may be slightly spoilerish .. not sure. So the book got me thinking. What about adding a slight green tint to the skin of some figs? Sort of your special forces guys who where augmented to absorb energy from sunlight. Requiring them to eat less and sleep less. It would be a cool way to differentiate between them so you can reuse some sculpts. Maybe do some light conversions on them also.
Has anyone done anything like this before? How do you make them look augmented and not alien? Probably a hard thing to pull off in 15mm. |

Loved Old Man's War and I am ready to sign up once I turn 70. The follow up books are great as well. The Chloroform skin was a cool and plausible idea. As to doing this with my minis not yet. Even my space orks are red skinned because I have to be different. |

I tend to pick minis with no skin exposed for my troops. :) I love Scalzi and I've read all his stuff, but I am of the mind that the future battlefield is too deadly for any troops to not be enclosed in armor – breathable air included. |

CorSecEng: "How do you make them look augmented and not alien?" Height – Taller ranges for the augments and shorter ones for normal mortals? Bulk – Bulkier figures are the augments? link Visors – Green tint on the augments? Or go really crazy
