There is a 1/35 scale model kit of it.

As a matter of fact there is several of the 1/35 scale kits here at the local hobby shop. They are priced out of this world as the owner thinks all models are collectors items but I have seen that he has five or six of them in stock. And from the for what it is worth category there were several artillery pieces that could fire "atomic" rounds not just the "ATOMIC" canon.

There was a 15mm version; was it by Qualiticast?

Allen5716 May 2013 4:37 p.m. PST

The Qualiticast was actually 1/87 (HO trains scale) which is about between 18 and 19mm. It was a nice model.

The 1/35 kit usually goes for $40 USD-60 which is not all that bad for the 1/35 kit. It is a huge model. There here have been several reissues which are seen occasionally on eBay and is priced a bit less. I wonder how many of them go for the $100 USD+ that someone is asking for them.

My Grandad designed and built the fuze for the nuclear shell it fired,

Gotta admit, that's an impressive beast to plonk down on the table. Don't even need to fire it to scare the crap out of your opponent with a 280mm gun. In 15mm, you're talking about a roughly 1/8" diameter muzzle!

Quality cast now 19th Century Miniatures make one in 15mm. Almost bought it once in memory of the 1/35th scale one that I had when I was a kid.

Unless you're going to have it as an attack objective I think you could safely claim it as off-board artillery support :-)

I saw that cannon at the tank museum. Running it as a 1/35 among a group of 1/100 miniatures kind of gives you the right feel for the size of the thing. :)

Note there are two guns in the poster. Think about that. Why? Feel the need for rapid fire with kiloton munitions?

Well, can you imagine how embarrassed you'd be if you missed?
