sorry not Napoleonic but thought you guys might be interested . Yup I all ready have Anglo Dutch wars ships but there all 1:1200 and 1:2400 where it's at :)(Only joking Vol) plus I've turned two of these around so far this week, it takes me double the time to get one 1:1200 off the painting table and I'm particularly inspired by the paintings of the massed battles of the period so I'm going for volume of ships, and that's where 1:2400 wins it for me. This is the first ship off the painting table a 50 gun English ship of the red squadron. My force is going to centre on the second Anglo Dutch war and I might aim for the order of battle from Lowestoft or at least use that as a guide to the mix of ships, the later probably being much more logical and sensible. As for rules I have tiller and whipstaff from Mr Langton and grate ships by Mr Manley but I'm quite interested in concepts in the general at sea set. The idea of using bases of ships as you would in say a land based rules set seems to me a good way of representing the scale of these battles. If anyone has any thoughts on theses rules that would be interesting to hear.

Nice work! What brand of ship? I've always wanted to do the Anglo-Dutch wars. |

Cool! I really like the water. So just how big are the 1:2400 scale ship models? It's hard to get a sense of scale from the picture without some kind of reference, like a ruler. |

Another Beautiful (albeit tiny, ha) ship we have come to expect from you Ben. I have been wanting to get into the Anglo Dutch wars too, but I have all of these Napoleonic ships to finish first. Maybe when I'm 100. Of course if you have any of those huge beastly 1:1200 ships laying around you don't want anymore I can give you my address! Good job and keep the photos coming! Regards, Vol |

Happy you like her guys :) Shagnasty, I went with the tumbling dice range they are the only people making them at 1:1200. Navwar do them at 1:3000 and 1:1200 and Langton amazing ones at 1:1200. The navwar range is atchelly quite goid quality wise. Drummer, ill post a picture for scale later on when I have time but this ship is about 25mm long and 8mm wide. Thanks Rory, I love the 1:1200 as well just never get them finished :) Thanks Vol, you should make the jump with your mast building skills the navwar anglo dutch ships would look excellent. I do still love the bigger ships to but if I ever decide to get rid of them I will definitely let you know sir |

Here is a rather dodgy photo to illustrate their size, they are a 50 and 70 gun ship.
