My son has a Sons of Thunder force on the paint desk, and he doesn't want wheeled vehicles. All the mechs that I've been able to find are a little too slender and spindly for the squatty lil bastards. Anybody know of any stocky style walkers we could use instead? |

Were do you want to start there are so many mecha on the market most gamers are really spoiled for choice, personally i like these and think they should fit the bill quite nicely for a Sons of Thunder force. link |

How about Hasslefrees grym power armour, it's made to look squatty, they would be good for heavy power armour, or a light mech. link |

How about checking out some of the Reaper CAV line? There may be something there that could suit? |

How about some little collectible Gundam minis? These are about 30-40mm high. I used some as heavy power armour

Love the look of the ravenstar stuff. I have his dropship.. small fighter. As well ss a few tanks and apcs. He sent me a free blazer. All great models. Don't have any walkers.. but those big ones in the back Of stroezies photo scream squatish..sons of thunder

Reaper does have a few that might work in their CAV line link
Also, the Ravenstar Studios' Silverback Assault Mech is pretty good
as well as the larger Thunderfoot Mech

I ended up using some Blue Moon walkers with mine.
Their stuff is a bit odd with more conventional figures, but work just fine with the Sons of Thunder. -Chris K. |

What about the Mantic Forgefathers Iron Ancestor. Sure it's a 28mm hard suit/dreadnaught, but it could scale up nicely as a 15mm walker. It even has what looks like a 15mm hatch on top! Here's what it looks like against 28mm figs.
It was also just released in a version with an additional gun arm intead of the hammer.

I'd been lamenting that their conversion bits don't seem suitable for 15mm, but never considered using the PA as a mech. Also, they're cheap – that counts for a lot in my book. Thanks for the recommendation. |
