I finally got my photobucket stuff organized. Here's a link to the early Russians I've been working on.

Nice conversions and painting.

They are a super pain. For instance, the hussars, now a 12-fig unit, required a HaT infantry head swap, with cording and plumes added from scratch. To make the pelisses look right, I had to carve out the inside shoulder, heat and bend the separate Zvezca pelisse to fit that shoulder, and carve away some of the shoulder to get a realistic fit.

The HaT infantry are a limited bunch, and without officers, all of which had to be converted from other figures. A lot of the infantry are body swapped at the waist, in order to get some pose variation.

Just love those cylindrical backpacks and Jager top hats!

Great work.

Thanks.

New project on the work table. Head swap Italeri Pavlov grenadier heads onto HaT early Russians to get some NON-Pavlovs in miter and cylindrical backpacks, ca 1805-07. While I was in there, I realized that I could also use some of the Italeri Pavlov legs, to get some pose variation.

And this is what I really like about conversion work – There will be no unit in the world like them.

I've got all the cutting and pasting done, got black undercoat and a few faces painted.

Fantastic conversions Widowson.
I really like the Hussar and the infantry drummers and the Officer with the the halberd.
Are they used to be used for wargaming? Looking forward to seeing your other conversions.

Great work. It gives me ideas for leaders that the 1/72 sets seem to be light on.

For me, I would prefer if the background you shoot against wasn't black. Hard on my aging eyes.

Great job on these!! A little easier in plastic then in metal but they're very well done and you couldn't tell they were a conversion.

A LOT easier than metal. I'm developing the science of the cocked paper hat. Getting better. I'll post more asap.

Many thanks for all the kind words.
