Looking to get into WW1 – is Warhammer Historical's Great war any good, particularly for 1914? |

I don't know, never read em. But by far the best WW1 rules I've come across by far is TFL Through the Mud and the Blood. Great set of rules for large & small skirmish. You should give em a try. Peter |

They are fun skirmish set. We use them for Boxer rebellion. They are perfect for that. They are just a simplified version of 5th edition 40K. Great fun. Joe Collins |

They're not bad, but they're a simplified version of 40k v4 (area terrain rules went away in v5). Fun for a game, not sure how much period flavor they have! |

I liked them a lot, and was dissapointed when that part of the GW empire folded. They had the same level of flavour that FoW has for WW2, which for me means it has some but it's up to the individual players to bring the rest. |
