Hell on Keels: The Saga of Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 12

A story of wooden boats and iron men, Hells on Keels recounts the story of PT Boat Squadron 12 in WWII, and one of the original skippers, L. Rumsey Ewing, SPS 1938.

I can't find any info about the book or Squadron 12.

PT Boats: Elco 80' PT's 127,145,146,150-152,187-196
Assigned To: Southwest Pacific,
Postscript: The squadron saw action in New Guinea waters, and the Philippines. Squadron 12 was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for action in New Guinea from Oct 1943 to March 1944.

They were evidently based here during part of their Pacific service: link
