I'm curious, so I'm doing a bit of market research. Say I hired a contact sculptor to make 10mm Goat Guys and: – They were similar in size and quality to WM Chaos Marauders – They came in units of 30 individual infantry figures (3x9 regular poses, a champ, banner and musician), 12 cav, 9 monsters, 3 chariots – There were roughly 8 unit types (kids w/ spears, kids w/ bows, adults, heavy adults, minotaurs, chariots, hounds, centaur cav) and heroes Would you buy an army? If so, how many units would be in that army? Would you not be interested in a Goat Guy army but might buy another? |

Would very much like them in 15mm

I'd buy a few Goat Guys or Gals. What I need is some Centaurs kitted out with ECW era equipment. But Goats are high on the list |

Not at this time, as I'm focusing on more traditional "high fantasy" elements (dwarves, elves, chivalric humans, etc.). In the future, I might give 'em a try, if the price were right. I do like your impulse to have immature "goat guys" as some of your units. It gives a hint of a unique culture, which always adds interest to an army. Are you casting any of these as strips or strictly as individual figs? |

I'm always interested in new 10mm. But I'm afraid goat guys aren't particularly high on my list! I do have a lot of Pendraken Minotaurs to use as Ogres, so at some point may want some smaller guys to go with them, but I am several other armies ahead of this idea. |

Sounds interesting. Are you aware of Eureka's goat beastment link & Pendraken's link link |

I'm aware of them, yes. Just seeing what kind of interest there is out there in 10mm land. |

As in Broo do you mean?
I would be interested |

By the way, pictures or concept sketches would probably change these responses greatly. The tendency on TMP for an unseen project is typically guarded interest to enthusiasm (with a few flat "noes"). Once you have visuals, the interest could either soar or collapse. You'll always get outliers, but the only true way to judge is to show the product. For me, on any 10mm line, my preference is for strips over individuals (with the exception of a few "character" figs), and some attempt to create variety in the poses. This is less needed if the army implies a high level of discipline or standardized equipment — as for example a Roman legion— but a motley army needs a more random appearance. For a WM infantry unit, two or three different strip poses and a command strip are good. |

What I need is some Centaurs kitted out with ECW era equipment. That pretty well trumps any of my obscure mini requests. |

Lizardmen with skull armour and shields with amzonian tribal allies now you are talking |

How does this strike you guys for a Kick Starter? We order up 10 models for 10 different unit types, one for each unit. You'll be able to see them on the KS page so you'll have an idea of the size/quality/aestetic. We set the initial goal at 1.5K, if met we'll do a full unit's worth of poses for one unit type that we showcased. Every 1.5K after that is a stretch goal where we'll do another full unit's worth of poses for another unit type that was showcased. Pledge levels will be for x number of units. $40 USD for 4, $75 USD for 8, etc. If the KS ends at 4.5k (the initial and two stretch goals) we'll do three unit types. And if you ordered 8 units, you can choose between those three types in any combination to make up your 8 units. Thoughts? |

I would buy some goatmen, assuming they could fit with the Pendraken stuff. |

What Parzival said. I'm into 10mm fantasy, though I have pretty conservative preferences. Men, Elves, Dwarfs, orcs, and other Tolkien types are my choice. Dead and skeletons I'm okay with too. But I can't get into the goatmen, or lizard men or ratmen etc. |

It might work as a kick-starter, provided you get enough "flash". |

On the strip/individual thing. Would strips that could be separated into individuals work for people? |

Great idea, but why not 6mm fantasy? ;-) |

A lot of my gaming group (who are really into 10mm) only by GW figures because they are in strips, and the figures are touching side by side, this speeds up painting time loads as you really only have the front and back of the figures to paint, not the sides. It also makes the units look really dense – and makes the figures really strong. So figures cast on strips that could be cut up, are probably the worst of both worlds. For those who want strips, they are too far apart so you have to paint all 4 sides. And for those who want singles they need cutting up. The WM archers are usually like this. |

^^^I agree with your thoughts on this -- worst of both worlds. |

So why exactly are you doing this? If it is to make a profit, I dont know if it is exactly feasible. If it is just a "hobby", it could work out. |
