US Doctor Who fans are being urged to keep the plot of Saturday's finale secret after DVDs of the series were sent out early in error.

BBC Worldwide said "a small number" of fans had been sent pre-ordered DVDs three weeks early.

It asked those with the DVD not to reveal plot details which would ruin the "viewing pleasure" of others.

I am intrigued. My children are suitably frightened, but accompanied by cushions to hide behind while watching. All is well in the world.

This series hasn't been the best to be honest

Since when has Dr Who had a plot? Aliens invade. Dr Who runs about and by cleverness, luck or random intervening factor defeats aliens. The biggest problems seem to be when it tries to get over clever and pass itself off as more than it is.

It sort of did Geoff when they used to do 4 or 5 parters
