This is quite a interesting wargame table to take note the distance the famous Light Brigade had to ride untill the Russian cannons.
And then… back!!

Well done. There is even a Russian limber carrying off a British gun. Never seen that done. Bravo !
and if you like that conflict, step aboard.

That's not Armand's game, he just posted the link.

The game was public participation, the players took on the role of Regimental Commanders, they played each other to be the first to reach the guns (but still have enough figures to take them). It was very well conceived, very popular, the prize for the winner of each round was a balaclava and was only just pipped by the RAF Leuchars "Divine Wind" game as best PP in show.

Who has actually won the battle of Balaclava?
The Russians? GB? France? Sardinia?Turkey?

Hell Riders by Terry Brighton

If you have an interest in the battle, and havent read this book, you should definitely put it on your reading list.

I think this a scaled up version of the one Staines Wargamers take to shows occasionally. We were asked for the rules and card details a while back by someone who wanted to create their own version.

The main difference (apart from 28mm figs) is that they are using movement sticks, we use bands on the board itself.

Bravo, Whatsitgood4ratwork!

" we use bands on the board itself."

Each band being half a league, of course :)

And this game is making an appearance at Wappinshaw in Glasgow on the 1st of June.

Shouldn't the British gun be on the heights down the other end? Great looking game!!
