The local HMGS-South group played a Napoleonic naval game using Ship ‘o the Line rules (by Battleline) and 1/1200 scale miniatures. link

Nice game, what did you think of the rules? |

The rules work well, and the game went on at a good pace. They were simplified by the designer into the board game 'Iron Men and Wooden Ships' before being published as miniatures rules by Battleline. They are not currently in print as far as I know. link |

Good stuff NCC1717! Ship o' the Line is still my rule set of choice for Napoleonic naval – been using it for more than 30 years (though in 1/2000). @Timmo uk: They pop up on ebay now and then, usually for about $10. USD I believe the author passed away a year or two ago; I have no idea who owns the rights to these rules at this point but it sure would be cool if they were re-published (my copy is REALLLLY showing years of heavy use). |
