Just finished a unit of Volunteers of Ireland figures and thought I should share them. Also a unit of the 27th Foot using the Perry plastics. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Cheers,
Mick

Mick, Great work. I've been thinking of getting the Volunteers of Ireland figures myself and these are the first painted unit I've seen of them….very inspiring.
Where did you get their regimental flag from?

There are at least 2 TMP threads discussing the VoI flg…

Start with the green facings, it needs a green flag.
I have a few Flags for the Lads sheets. I am going to take a nice green one and paint a gold harp on it. Why? Why not?
Maybe a scroll with "Volunteers of Ireland" too.

Or, a wreath or shield, with this inscription:
. VoI
2nd Amer.
And a harp… grin

I like them, they look great, wonderful work.

Thanks guys.

@Stacky – GMB flags. I think Flag Dude does them too. I was about to do my own version along the lines of the OFM's good suggestions, but happier just to cut and glue on GMB's version. The Perry command pack ensigns come with their own flag staffs – a nice touch.

Very nicely done. Something particularly pleasing about the look of buff-faced regiments, with their buff belts and small clothes.

That's it I can resist no longer. I'm off to the Perry website armed with the OFM's guide to starting the AWI…

SM, another good thing about buff faced regiments is that you do not have to paint white straps.
For someone who hates painting white straps, I have made an odd choice for my favorite period. grin

Very nice looking figures! I really like the buff colored regiment. I might have to do one with my extra plastics.
