Hi Everyone, As i'm preparing for my new miniatures line ( clearhorizonminiatures.com ) i'm experimenting with new photo techniques
I'm pretty happy how they turned out!
The ground is a pre-made BUSCH ground cover set. The back is simply a neutral gray piece of cardstock. The whole thing is in a popup light box with a bunch of lights. I'm going to try different backgrounds, but the gray isn't too bad. Let me know what you think! link |

Very nice. I would like to see other background colour to make the second vehicle stand out better. Perhaps with a planet's "sunrise" as both vehicle and field are neutral colour. Cheers, |

I think the pics nice, however those figures are just outstanding cough cough
Seriously though they are
:) Ill stop
I promise
. The pictures
The APC is bang on, really like it and I think the urban needs a slight focus adjustment to make it perfect. The shuttle picture has the making if you can just focus on the female and sort of blur the surroundings. I think that would be neat |

A dual sunrise? I like that idea. |

Very nice! The light box makes a massive difference IMO. Where is the shuttle from? |

Shuttle looks like Combat Wombat's. |

Looks like they're fighting over the Neo-Falklands! Loving the drab, it's-bloody-freezing-and-threatening-to-rain look the grey background gives. Not perfect for all models and settings, but it's a nice effect regardless. |

Thanks guys! And yes, it is combat wombat, as Maj Diz Aster and Brother Jim said. I'm going to make some more backgrounds up, and see how that turns out
I'll also post a picture of my full setup, to see how the actual equipment is set up. |

I like the photos, could be smoke on the horizon. |

Use a smaller aperture. That'll make more depth focus. Just make sure all the minis that are close to each other are in good focus. "Hangarounds" and terrain doesn't have to be

Thanks for the tips
here's another one:
I brought the mat further from the background, so the clump foliage doesn't cast a shadow. |

Thanks – it looks better in your pic than on the CW site
Might have to get a couple. Looking forward to your minis too! |

I like the technique. I think you're really starting to nail down a style in the last two shots. You might want to experiment with increasing/decreasing the vertical and horizontal angles a bit with the current depth of field just to see the effect. Congrats on the new line! |
