So for folks that are just getting information about this project link we are putting together some source books for a Victorian Science Fiction Setting. That said we do VSF a bit different than many people. We base what we do heavily on history and actual period technology. Our books will include the real world statistics for all the historical weapons we include. We will also attempt to include 3D technical drawings of them. As an added bonus anything we do include as a 3D drawing will also become available as a print on demand model in various scales from Objects May Appear shapeways.com/shops/objects. Generally we work in 15mm scales and smaller. This is the first cut list of British Ordnance for inclusion in the Hive, Queen and Country Vehicles and Artillery Book. We are not going to include any dedicated coast artillery weapons in this volume, as we intend upon doing that as a separate book in the future. If we are missing things that were either in service between 1890 and 1904 let us know. Since this serves not only the historical community but also Victorian Science Fiction (VSF) and Steam Punk gamers and such we will be including interesting weapons from outside that period as well as some strictly Sci Fi ones. link Please take a look at the list below and see if we are missing anything! The lists for other nations will be forthcoming. Look for a number of guns that have never had data published in English language sources when we get to nations like Russia and Japan! Hmmmmmmmm
Rockets? I seem to recall Hale Rockets were still being used in an artillery role up to the end of the 19th century. |

OOPs sorry I forgot rockets! They will be in there as well. Not sure about Machine weapons though Terry |

Rudi if I'm missing things please let me know. This isn't a WW1 list but is based on VSF. We will be happy to include guns that you have data for and which we feel fit our conception. The only gun on that list that historically didn't see land service was the 11 inch ASW howitzer. I can document land service for everything else, including the 7.5 inch land service weapon. |

Terry – since the book will be about vehicles as well as artillery, I'd include them. Machine guns can be mounted on vehicles after all. But that's only if the HQC rules are granular enough to distinguish between the different types in any meaningful way. Dr V |

Dr V there might be some difference between rifle caliber, heavy and 1 inch weapons but that would be it in terms of die rolls. The Core role playing rules really can't and the core miniatures rules are The Sword and the Flame and they really can't either. The only reason I would include them is for drawings and future 3D printed models. I've had the different guns argument about many guns in many games and I'm usually firmly on the guns are guns side for most small arms. |

Hi, I did the same task for my ruleset 3 month ago. I know a little about guns but you have in the victorian age also the transition of the differant patends on the breech and your have also the cradle balance and the recoilbreak. Start here and than go down per period? Check than the differant breeches, and than the recoilbreak and double check the " with the pdr. link You must also check if they are HIghpowered or not. Please also be reminded that the russian for example used byzantine howitzers in the japanese- russian war. link And here my favourite list
The super guns
A must for all VFS.
Greetings and have fun |

Now for armoured trains British already listed German German 2 axle car with 53mm Gruson turret German 2 axle car with slope roofed gun house Straight sided armoured engine Austrian Pz Zug no 9 Russian A variety of different versions Japanese They had a very cool train in the 1930s in Manchuria, it is really out of period but I might include it because it looks soooooo good! The Triple Empire (in our setting this is Portugal, Spain and Brazil) A Brazilian train for use in the countryside and a couple for use against the French In terms of Fictional trains we'll be adding Flak trains for most everyone and also probably some rocket trains. We might also add some coast defense trains. |

For the US, don't forget the 2.5" Sims-Dudley dynamite gun, which actually saw service during the Spanish-American War, and the 15" Zalinski dynamite gun, which equipped USS Vesuvius and several coast defense batteries in the US. LT |

Add to your French list the 37mm, 47,, and 57mm Hotchkiss Revolving cannons, and add those to the Imperial Russian list as well, as these guns were exported and produced under license rather extensively. They were ubiquitous on French and Imperial Russian warships into the early 20th century. For the French, also add the Mitrailleuse, as this was the standard French naval mount machine gun until it was replaced by the Hotchkiss machine gun at the beginning of the 20th century. Leland R.
