Very nice Xyston minis, shame I am 2/3d through my Punic wars project using very nice Corvus Belle figures, I do love Xyston! |

I was going to go with Xyston, but found the poses of their Punic spearmen to be weird and not combat ready. Several figures have their shields above their rear foot (rather than forward) so they look like they're posturing out of battle. |

Some great detail, but big figures with big feet that sit unhappily on their rather too thin horses. Great range though. I too prefer Corvus Belli Carthaginians, however, they have a problem with shield attachment which Xyston are much better at. |

The newer figures, which I think are done by Michael Lovejoy, are beautiful figures. They are smaller than the 2nd generation Xyston figures (and the feet are smaller than the 1st original releases). I have some of the newer Roman cavalry and Scythians, and the detail is excellent. Some examples (not mine):
