What about that tank is "steam?" With that profile, it would have to be an internal combustion engine. And the design is too late— it looks like something circa 1936 or even WW2, not 1902. Interesting design, but just not "steamy." |

I have to agree, the 2 designs are more pulp/dieselpunk than steam. |

Armand Thanks for posting this! Since I designed it I will tell you about the world it comes from In the hqc universe steam road traction was not made impractical by acts of parliament and was a thriving branch of engineering by mid century. Still produced a market for smaller lighter steam engines and boiler systems. Thus vehicle use such boilers and a forced draft system. USS Monitor went into action without funnels as she had forced draft. In hqc there have been steam land vehicles since 1830 and land fighting machines in service since 1870. This means the vehicle in the picture has decades of development behind it. In a way you are very much correct. These vehicles have at least as much comparative development as a tank in 1939 in otl. The technology is very different and the battlefields it is to fight on as well. It is still the product if many years of design development and operational experience. In hqc the altered timeline has downstream consequences. Technology keeps moving forward from those points. We have tried very hard to keep our tech consistent with the way our universe works. |

I am not fond of the box-style launcher, but that's just me. Your opinion may vary (gracious of me, innit?). |

They were really neat castings from Rebel minis. I just couldn't resist them. But a box launcher makes way more sense then racks, troughs or tubes. These would be a fictional rocket of 6 inch caliber, so I can put them in any container. Since in the HQC universe rocketry is far in advance of that same period in OTL (they are using chemical rockets to get into orbit after all) I can see bumping up the launcher technology as well.
