Especially if the Sultan picks up some surplus A-10s and gets in on the F-35 deal. You know, Thunderbolt(s) and Lightning(s). BWW |

The offshore Republic of Orb Guinea brings its armed forces to alert status. Dateline: Republic of Orb Guinea. The border crisis between Fandango/Bongolesia was bad enough. Pirates are continuing to harass shipping cargos. Orb Guinea may finally be waking up to an out-of-control situation. "It appears Bongolesia may strike at both Fandango and the Sultanate in order to preempt any such motives by their respective neighbors," quote from a statement by Orb Guinea Prime Minister Athta. If such a strike occured, it puts Orb Guinea in an awkward position as it depends on Sultanate copper, but also Bongolesian lithium to fuel its industries. Orb Guinea will have to honor its treaties with one or the other party, but would like to avoid the mess entirely. Certainly Orb Guinea is not sitting on hopes as recent training of its air mobile brigade for landward actions in the recent STRA-PAC-RIM maneuvers suggests. The recent refitting of their Mig-29K fleet with the new X-Red IV targeting/tracking systems also sends a plain signal that the archipelago nation sees landward threats as the next major problem it faces. Indeed, the rising paranoia in the region with the recent pirate activity has given rise to small Orb Guinea fleet being released to escort and patrol duty up and down the Dandani Straits. Prime Minister Athta was further quoted, "In order to prevent further destabilization of the region, we advise the Sultanate that the recent rumours of the purchase of old A-10 attack aircraft is not in their best interests as it may antagonize Bongolesia further. The worsening Fandango/Bongolesia situation does not need more fuel to the fire. We would, of course, honor our mutual defense pacts and place our air forces at the defence of the Sultanate against any aggressor nation." When asked for exact meanings, the Prime Minister was unavailable for comment. |

In other news, the Deputy Under Minister of Culture, Galileo Gallileo, has banned 'The Fandango' as being licentious in nature, lewd in practice and an incite to moral degradation. He states that "This dance is the clear link to our nations discord and must therefore be stamped out!" |
