'Cause that "breast" plate could KILL you:

Preach it, sister!

Basically, THIS is what women's armour should look like:

Well…I guess I am small-minded. I want my fantasy female armor to have boob-plates and that's that!

i vote for the "not dead" type of armor

wminsing09 May 2013 11:05 a.m. PST

Another vote for the 'not dead' type armor. ;)

For gritty roleplaying and fantasy games I go for real armour. For Sword and Sorcery gaming – Well, the Needs more boobies board title says it all.

This is kind of like having Guards battalions in the AWI carrying flags. We know it's wrong, but we do it anyway.
But at least the Guards will not get themselves killed as a result of carrying King's Colours…

BTW, Parzival…
Tell the writer that we agree with her. At least the smarter ones of us do. grin

But it's the best way to tell male/female apart.

I have a game somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is, that lumps this in with the "kung fu" movies.

For Heroes fitting those genres, the less they wear the better their protection. A kung fu fighter with his shirt on? Easy target. Tear off the shirt, now they are nearly invincible. And probably really shiney…
Fun stuff.

See this is assuming that the armor is there to deflect blows. It is for protection.

When confronted with this:

My first thought it not to strike it with my sword.

Wait, that is my first thought.

It would still save her life.

Mr Pumblechook09 May 2013 4:07 p.m. PST

My first thought is 'shot-trap' seeing boob-plates.

That was one of my problems with the recent Raging Hero fantasy releases (the trio of Empire-esque themed sisters)

The boob-plates even looked like they had undercutting.

Sorry, dumb and pandering to the lowest common denominator. All they lack is skullz and the usual combat lingerie.

There is armor, and there is bling.

But it's the best way to tell male/female apart.

No. No, it's not.

CraigH09 May 2013 5:42 p.m. PST

yeah well, if I were a manufacturer, I know which type I'd expect to sell more of.

Whenever Captain Kirk got into a fight, his shirt would get nearly ripped off of his chest before he defeated his adversary.

This explains it well:

The Oglaf link above is one of the very few pages on the site that aren't wonderfully NSFW, although if you read it your coworkers are likely to wonder why you're giggling and muttering "the throwing anus!" to yourself.

Do not, whatever you do, click on the next/previous links. Well, the next one is even more SFW. oglaf.com/laridae

But the site is basically a very funny fantasy porn webcomic. So be careful. Wear protection.
