An event to celebrate the cenranery of the publication of Little Wars took place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on the weekend of 27/28 April 2013. It was organised by the author of Funny Little Wars, Paul Wright. 12 games were played in total – 4 indoor (rain!) and the rest in the open air. The initial reports can be seen on my blog: Introduction: link First round of games: link link link link Plenty more still to come! |

Tim, thanks for posting these, but of the links to the First round of games, only the fourth seems to work. :( Regardless, I wish achingly that I'd been in England that weekend! |

Really wonderful! Edwardian War Gaming is less about the rules (though they are challenging), the number of figures on the table/turf, or the latest miniatures available, than the simple joy of toy soldiers, and the attitude of the players. These accounts, the delightful photos, and no less their captions, have caught that spirit in full, and full credit to Brother Gow for doing it so well. As an absentee attendant, I was, of course, gratified to see the "Funny Little Wars" official flags in evidence, as well as at least two of the "Little Houses" (the Church and the 2-story Stone Cottage) in use. The next event will certainly see more of these and so many other accessories--and not least the first Armies of "Little Warriors." Thank you, one and all, but special thanks must go to Padre Paul for bringing his dream to life. TVAG |

Neckties at a gaming convention? As a Californian, let me just say, "wow". It looks like it was a great event. I used to own a copy of Little Wars, and even played it a couple of times when I was a student, but I haven't seen it in many years. |
