Amazing. Well except for them giving away the end :) I just listened to an audio book of enders game and Card gave a nice talk at the end of the book explaining a lot about how the book was written and the journey to get the movie rights into someones hands. Seems everyone wanted to give him a girl interest and make him 16. That of course screws up the entire story. He wrote the original screenplay and had a lot of trouble with it. He ended up blending a lot of Ender's Shadow into the book. Which is great because Bean will play a much larger role and help explain whats going on in Ender's head. |

I'm pretty excited about this movie. I remember reading Ender's Game when it was just a short story in Analog Magazine. |

Well, it was going to be a rental anyway. |

Was that Sir Ben Kingsley as a Maori? |

Looks great. This year I got my wife to read Ender's game and she enjoyed it. Looks like I found a sci-fi movie she'll be happy to go to! |

Was that Sir Ben Kingsley as a Maori? Funny, since he's supposed to be playing Mazer Rackham
Jewish Maori? |

Where did you get that Mazer was Jewish? He is described in the book as "a little known, twice-court-martialled, half-Maori New Zealander." So the facial tattoos make sense even though they aren't mentioned at all in the novel. It does make Kingsley look very distinct and memorable so I guess that's why they did it
I like them. |

I remember reading Ender's Game when it was just a short story in Analog Magazine. I remember Card when he spoke to my theater class, before he was a published author

I love Harrison Ford, but man he sounds old. Wow that threw me off a bit. He sounds frail. |

I commented to some friends last week the Harrison sounds like an old tired man as opposed to Eastwood who sounds like and old cranky man. Kinda scares me for Star Wars. I don't think he can pull Solo off anymore. |

If he is writing the screenplay, that denies him the right to bitch about "What they did to my book!"
It won't top ME from bitching, though. |

cool
just read Ender's Shadow last year. Filled things out quite well. |

The ending to Enders Game blew what was a brilliant book for me. Just too nice and dissapointing. Put me off trying the other books. |

Jewish Maori? Well I don't generally stereotype but considering Ben Kingsley's birth name was Krishna Bhanji I'd say it's unlikely he's Jewish. |

He wrote the first draft basically. You know when you see the based on the screenplay by kinda stuff. He isn't involved in the production but he game them the starting point. I don't think he will whine too much. From the stories he told, He was VERY careful about who got the rights. Several guys even tried to pull a fast one on him by stating stuff in the fine print that would let them make Ender older even though it specified he would be no older then 12. |
