Germany just sold some more of these subs. link Their "Popeye Turbo" missiles can reportedly be nuclear tipped. The missiles have a range of about 1,500 kilometers. These subs are based in the Mediterranean. Travelling through the Suez canal would be a give away, and make them vulnerable. What are the possible targets from the Mediterranean? They can hit Lebanon and Syria anyway. Why the subs? Iran looks to be out of range from the Med. |

The article indicates that the Israel has been operating these subs since the 1990's and the subs were involved in nuclear tests of the coast of Sri Lanka in 2002 so getting into range of Iran should not be a problem. BTW the distance from the northern Mediterranean coast of Syria to Teheran is about 1500 Kms the reported range of Israel's"Popeye" missile launchable from a submarine link |

I should have measured that. I took a look at Google maps and saw that it looked roughly 1500km from the med coast to just inside Iranian territory. |

Wow, one of those looks like it would be a sweet ride for a super villain! I hope SMERSH or KAOS or the Penguin don't get one of those ^,^ |

Well, as long as they make sure all their sub buyers give a street address and not a PO Box
we won't have to worry about the Penguin. Rob |
