How do you regulate a war? |

Can't say what I'm really thinking would happen as it would likely earn me a DHing. |

Hmmm, that is interesting. Didn't realize so many other countries, other than Japan, were so far along. Usually, the UN gets it totally wrong, so in theory I should support the use of them, and actually do in some circumstances. However, having seen the BSG and Terminator shows, perhaps they are on to something. Clearly, at some point, there will definitely be cause for concern, especially if they ever get deployed, or used domestically. Seems to me like we need a drone posse comitatus law. |

If the Terminator movies have taught us anything, it's best to start stocking up on recoiless 20mm express rifles and AP ammunition for robot-killing goodness

How do you regulate a war? They've been doing it forever. You can't use any bullets but ball ammunition; you can't use knives with saw blades; .50 cal or bigger can only be used on materials; POWs can't be made to work; heavy cruisers can only be 10,000 tons; crossbows can only be used against non-Christians; only European troops can be used in European wars; white flags = truce; soldiers taken out of uniform can be shot; and on and on. |

I always liked the Pope's prohibtion of cross-bows against Christians, as Tgunner mentioned. Apparently it was okay to chop a Christian into little pieces with your axe and leave him festering on the battlefield to bleed to death, but shoot him in the eye for a clean, instant kill was a no-no. |

I thought the Crossbow thing was all about the indignity of a Peasant with a Crossbow being able to take out a Noble with a single bolt. |

"
.soldiers taken out of uniform can be shot
". A shame we no longer use this one, since it's one of my favorites. |

I recall an advert that used to be played at the cinema, it was based on Rorkes Drift with the Zulu's and British apologising as they merrily shot and bayoneted each other. I'm sure the UN could adopt this model with the drone, killer robot, LARS broadcasting an apology to the victim and its sincerest condolences to the victims friends and relatives. |

Remember the Puckle gun, an 18th century flintlock repeating tripod weapon--its plan diagram shows two types of circular plates for loading ammunition--spherical for "use against Christians", an a plste with square holes for the square projectiles to be used "against Turks" |
