Hi All I have posted an update on my blog of my recently painted British Infantry meant to be 1st Battalion Herefordshire Regiment part of the Black Bull Division, these chaps were in the thick of it in Normandy Operation Goodwood etc…

I don't know whether you are expecting praise or a critique when you posted these pictures but here goes. The painting is very good, you have done a great job and I love the divisional badges. However the poses are not very typical of British infantry in Normandy if you look at contemporary photos and there are no entrenching tools or helmet nets in evidence. Some of the weapons like the Thompson SMG and lots of Stens are very unlikely for this unit and the officer carrying the service pistol would have been quickly shot in Normandy. It pays to research the subject matter. I am sure there are better figures out there that would show your undoubted painting skills in a better light. I don't know what scale these are but if you compare yours to those made by AB miniatures you may see what I mean.
