GZG have released the start of their Tomorrow'w War Americans, i'm not sure if this is breaking news or not but I was having a look around on the GZG site and i just so happened to noticed them. :) Zac

I'd call that breaking, thanks for posting these.

They look good, though I'm a very happy camper with my Khurasan Federals for SF Yanks.

ohhh

I like them alot

TamsinP07 May 2013 1:52 a.m. PST

Is it just me, or do they look a bit Stormtrooper-ish?

Earther07 May 2013 1:57 a.m. PST

Nice. Very 2300AD-ish.

erraticassassin07 May 2013 2:28 a.m. PST

Those look rather splendid and, yes, a bit stormtrooper-ish. MOAR PICS PLZ!

davebill07 May 2013 3:05 a.m. PST

I think this is Jon's Post-Salute release (along with the mechs and some UNSC support weapons). Still haven't seen the Slammers troops John T showed a picture of.

TamsinP may have nailed it re possible other uses for these US troops. Gives me a further reason to order some of these boys.

Just as well I needed to get a couple more grav tanks – now I can place a proper order ;)

earthad07 May 2013 4:19 a.m. PST

They look awesome.

zonk7607 May 2013 5:58 a.m. PST

I've ordered mine and they're on the way!!!!

I grabbed a handful at Salute and can vouch for their quality.

The troops are wearing a light exoskeleton over their body armour (which is fairly light by SciFi standards) which you can sort of see on the side of the legs. The weapons are also neat albeit a little to detailed for my 15mm painting skills. The helmets remind me of Pig Iron's Heavy Infantry (which is 28mm and my first wargaming experience) more than Stormtroopers but that may just be me. The range of poses is also excellent. One of the best impulse buys I ever did.

Do you guys think these would these work for Imperial Guard Stormtroopers?

Like the bodies, heads I'm not thrilled about, perhaps a swap?

TheRatGod07 May 2013 9:56 a.m. PST

The new GZG US troops are based on the designs presented in our BY DAGGER OR TALON companion book for Tomorrow's War.

Here's a preview shot of the cover with one of the pictures the figures were based on:

Any update on the sourcebook Shawn?

The minis look great – I will add them to my wishlist…

UPDATE ON THE SOURCEBOOK:

Our layout artist suffered a serious injury, had surgery to correct it, and the surgery went sideways. That obviously through our schedule off track!

The good news is that she's a tough cookie and is back to work on the layout. I expect to see a finalized version sometime this month. I hope to release the book next month, but a lot will depend on whether or not our layout artist's health holds up.

All the best,

Shawn.
