technically that would be M113 Chimera based on the 2 vehicles shown side by side

but the rhino has definate influence from the M113 as well

I always thought the Chimera was more BMP-inspired, while the Rhino was obviously an M113. I've got a few 1/35 113s set aside for that very reason. Good find, Armand!

Very nice results but 22 bucks for three sheets of card seems a bit off. That's about as much as the original kit!

Still, I'm thinking I may steal this idea to DIY the m113 I have painted up as a rhino.

It's funny, when I joined the Army in '91 and was sent to Korea, the first thought that passed through my mind when I saw a M113 was, "Wow, a Rhino!"

How sad is that?

Oops ignore my previous message. I thought this was a mod kit for a m113. It's an entire kit, which is actually a pretty good deal.

Funny, I never mentally equated a Chimera to a BMP before, but now that you've said it, nvdoyle, I can totally see the resemblance.

Anyone have any experience with these kits?

while the Rhino was obviously an M113

I always thought it looks more like the British FV432. The real life Rhino made as a promotional piece for Dawn of War 2 was even built on an FV432. The newer version of the rhino certainly takes more after the M113…. without a doubt, there is a nice mix of design influences from the two.

If not for this wiki article, I'd never have known the StuG shown in Band of Brothers was also formerly an FV432.

Totally agree on the Chimera/BMP. That is actually half the reason I love the Chimera so much.
