I'd like to put on a game targeted for this holiday season [Decemberish], that would be suitable for 6-8 players. Criteria:
Prefer historical, and miniatures that could be 6mm to 40mm. Maybe a campaign oriented game that could be completed in a day [conquest of England in the dark ages for instance]. Or, it could be a largish stand alone battle [Chalons or similar], or I am open to a hypothetical [Soviet invasion of West Germany in 1985, based on the World at War series from Lock-N-Load.

I would like it to be fun, maybe card or event driven, and I have heard there are some great board games that you can transport to the tabletop….aside from the Command & Colors games out there.

So, ancients to modern, historical or fantasy [but prefer history], miniatures from 6mm-40mm, although open to a fun immersive board game as well.

Thanks in advance for the feedback and ideas. I may have some follow on questions as well.
