I've seen the TO&Es for the Zhodani Commando and Lift Infantry units, and in that article, they make references to the Tank and Mechanized, as well as the Cavalry units too.

Therefore, I'm curious to see if there are any official TO&Es for the above, and if so, how many vehicles are in a platoon for these units, and also for the companies, with their HQs?

I've been on the CT-Striker and Traveller Yahoo Groups, but didn't see any info there.

The vehicles generally seem to be in trios for the platoons (3 squads, plus an HQ vehicle – so perhaps I should say 4 vehicles per platoon, if you include the HQ unit, and if it is of the same type. I'm not sure about that, since it is listed as a command sled for the Lift Inf. Unit), but not 100% sure on that, and not sure if they have 3 or 4 platoons per company, or even more.

In the Lift Infantry Company, there are 3 x line platoons, as listed above, plus a heavy weapons platoon, and then various HQ vehicle assets, e.g. command vehicle, recovery sled, EW sled, etc.

Based upon the Lift Infantry organization I read about, there are 3 x APCs per platoon, as well as one Point Defense vehicle, and also a command vehicle (these are sometimes referred to as sleds, so again, its unclear if they are the same, or similar to the APCs of the unit), for five vehicles total in each platoon.

Another interesting tidbit, is the mention of a "transport" unit, that includes 13 APCs, for moving the troops, when teleportation insertions aren't used. There's no mention of a breakdown for that, so I'm guessing either 3 or 4 vehicles per platoon, and either 4 or 3 platoons per company, plus one HQ APC to make the total 13 vehicles.

I'm not overly worried about the issue, if the info isn't readily available, but thought at least some of the units might have been documented, somewhere. As mentioned, I'm most interested in the platoon and company levels for the following units: Grav Tank, Mechanized Infantry, and the Cavalry for the Zhodanis.

Thoughts, or links to more info?

I think they are in JTAS #10 (the WAR issue).

JTAS #9 is the WAR! issue
that is where the zhodani are introduced
but no TO&E

zhodani TO&E is in JTAS #11 Striker
but is only Commando and Lift Infantry

I was positive I had some reference to other zhodani formations
but darned if I can find them

There are no published canon organisations for Zhodani tank units. You're free to utilise your imagination.

It might be best to follow similar logic to the published canon infantry orgs – so command tank, point defence sled, and three tanks (five vehicles). Or, if you put point defence weapons on each of the tanks you could dispense with the dedicated point defence sled and get by with four tanks. THree platoons plus HQ elements for a tank company.

Thanks for the info.

Yea, that's what I suspected, and on the plus side, certainly makes things easier for me.

I also read about a Cav. Platoon being a mix of 2 x tanks and 2 x APCs. Can't recall if it was Zhodani, or Imperial, but imagine it could probably work for both, and/or I can tweak them a little, one way or another, by adding another tank or APC in the platoons.

Another option would be to go with light and heavy cav companies, using a 2:1 ratio of APC to tank platoons for the former, and a 1:2 ratio of APC to tank platoons for the latter, as the units, or scenarios dictate.
