Just finished building my 28mm European courtyard.

There are more pictures and short tutorial on my blog My Imagination is in Ruins

A nice model, but I'm somewhat puzzled. A "courtyard" is usually regarded as an open space surrounded by buildings – that is the edges of the courtyard are the buildings themeselves rather than walls in the way you have modelled.

Your model looks more like a car park than a courtyard.

Well I like it. If you placed a few buildings inside, up against the walls, it would look somewhat like the quintas I saw in Portugal. It could probably serve as a walled courtyard for lots of periods and regions

It probably would, but then any doors in the rear faces of the buildings would be blocked by the walls.

Can you show us any examples?

For lack of something better to call it when I posted it. Perhaps walled compound, walled yard or terrain base would be a better description? Maybe even forecourt?Though it may not be an appropriate description either. Courtyard seemed the best "generic" description.

no need to turn someone sharing their work into an adversarial process – jeez
I like it by the way

I think it looks good. I like the use of the paper for the cobbles and wish I could find something similar in local shops. The one thing I would say is that in my experience, most constructions like this have another way out. I would recommend a small gate or door in one of the walls opposite the main entrance.
