Actually I think it would be a good idea. Don't know how many times I see an announcement for a con and wonder how far away it is. Then find out I would have to drive across the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans to get there. A great many cons share the same name, just different countries. At the least one should put the state or city when they announce a con. |

Why not have the country as part of the title? Or the nation's flag--just remember: that's Somalia, not The Bonny Blue Flag. And is that a Polish flag or is Monaco (or Indonesia) flying theirs upside-down? And likewise, you'd never know if any ship from any of the following nations were in trouble: Austria, The Bahamas, Belgium, Ireland, Israel, jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Laos, Latvia, Libya, Macedonia, Maldives, Mali, Micronesia, Niger, North Korea, Palau, Palestine, the Philippines, Qatar, Scotland, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Weatern Sahara, Sao Tome and Principe, Switzerland, Sweden, Swaziland, Romania, Nigeria, Norway, Turkey and Tunisia. Just be careful--those Mali-registered sand-liners are always breaking down! And those Swiss pirates are always luring unwary ships onto the rocks (and they have lots of rocks in the Alps) by that ploy! |

Why assume that USA/RoW is the best split? If you're proposing s split, I suggest you look at the last … three years, say, of posts and split them into five roughly-equal groupings – those can be the geographically-divided Conventions board. Alternatively, if Bill were to delete any posts in the Conventions board that didn't state a location in the title, that might work, too. |

I would find it helpful to split the boards, but also agree would the idiots posting on here please just include which country you are referring to. We aren't Psychic. you may know where you live (maybe) but we don't and we don't want to read the whole thing just to find out you are in a country we have no intention of visiting Grumpy of reading Andy
