The FFG Falcon has a conspicuously absent engine glow:
I've given mine a simple white:
Should I do any more? PS: Here's Martin's from 'Fire Broadside':

I'd say the blue-white "exhaust" glow is a must for the Falcon :) |

Blue-white for most the movies, but red-white when they were flying around Bespin. I always assumed the red tinge meant the hyperdrive wasn't working
But man, your's looks nice. Remarkably clean, too. |

I went for Sky Blue (Vallejo) I'm also looking at the X-Wings and thinking something in the Cherry Red end of things. |

I went with white too!- looks fine. I tried putting an airbrush white 'glow' round the back of the Falcon in my pics using GIMP 2.6, a free program. Wasnt impressed with the result so don't bother now! |

Hmmm. Maybe when I'm bored I'll upgrade it to blue. |

I like the blue-white. That big blank gray bar bothered me from the moment I opened the package. Not sure when I'll get around to actually DOING anything about it, though. Doug |

The falcon's engines on Bespin: YouTube link And near Hoth: YouTube link mostly white in both shots. Both of those are from VHS copies, so various DVD and Blu-ray versions might have fiddled with things. |

It did change to more white in the 2nd and 3rd movies. A definite blue edge in the movie formerly known as Star Wars -- 11:28 in this comparison of editions, blue edged in both editions: YouTube link |
