Well, ten figures, not two. Think you mean two codes.

I have guard and line cavalry made as well, also a general and transitional hoplites attacking, and will get them out ASAP.

Khurasan

If you're doing FWOR, there's a must-read article concerning the equestrian army of Henri IV. If you give me an email address, I'll send it to you. And you definitely need Daniel on board for this, especially for such things as the correct look (fashion & armour) for the Huguenot 'Millers'. I have some info on this, but Daniel will have more.

Cheers
Paul

My address is khurasanminiatures AHT yahoo DORT com (silly all caps because the robots can read these things now!). Thanks.

Yes I've been consulting with Daniel on the line. After the Royal Swiss are done French infantry will be made and Daniel and I have been discussing their look.

In the 40 years I have been wargaming I never heard anyone say they prefer an attacking pose over a standing pose with upright spear/pike for close-order infantry. Since manufacturers keep making them I assume people must be buying them. Each to this own.

In the 1980's I build an Early Achaemenid Persian army for some edition of WRG. To use as Lydians I purchased some very nice Garrison Phrygian hoplites, attacking. I painted them, but never used them because I was unable to fit them properly on the base. This was the last time I purchased close-order infantry attacking.

I'll add a late suggestions.

There is a thread just now on late republican (Caesar) romans compatible with Corvus Belli.

From that, its pretty clear that while Corvus have a basic couple of figures, they have nothing approaching enough to do a proper army for this period according to any popular rules lists.

yet the figures they do have are easily the best in show available.

that suggests there is a gap to support that range – which, like the late romans, could be expanded to encompass the whole army if it sells well enough.

it would be a change though, as other khurasan have always been aimed at Essex scale figures, and its not the basic legionary who is required, so it may not fit with the business model. but still.

Not sure i follow -- are you saying I should make models to support Corvus Belli's range?

Keraunos17 Jun 2013 11:23 p.m. PST

pretty much, yeah – since their line is incomplete, but too good to be ignored.

Upright pikes make so much more sense in so many ways.

Really like the Royal Swiss preview!
