What if you want to game something too controversial or distasteful to put on the tabletop?

Ok, 1970's British if you insist – but if you want to do UNIT on the cheap then look no further !

Dynaman878903 May 2013 3:33 a.m. PST

I could use them as mercs for my African Imaginations but I have no idea what UNIT is.

United Nations Intelligence Taskforce.

Who knew ? grin

Now….where can I get a 20mm Scorpion that looks more like the Action Man Scorpion than an actual Scorpion ?

UNIT stands for UNified Intelligence Taskforce, (formerly it stood for United Nations Intelligence Taskforce)

Make sure your security clearance is up to date: unit.org.uk

I think in those uniforms we're talking United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, rather than the somewhat dubious later UNIT.

I started getting interested until my brain clicked into gear and registered "1/72".
Most Doctor Who miniatures [or proxies] are 28mm.
Anyone wanting suitable figures for 28mm classic UNIT could do worse than look at Gripping Beast's MoFo Falklands British range.

Interesting! some of those poses look just the old 54mm Britains Commandos/Paras.

They are derived from the Brtitains Deetail figures : link

So, it's an oxymoron then?

grin

I'll get my hat and coat…

It's a Dr. Who thing – UNIT were the troopers (and, often, red-shirt equivalents) of some of the classic Dr. Who episodes

SonofThor03 May 2013 7:43 a.m. PST

Now all you need is the rest of the Doctor Who-verse in 1/72.

J Womack 9403 May 2013 7:56 a.m. PST

You need the Brigadier. I miss old Lethbridge-Stuart.

+1 to Parzival.

That having been said, I still love UNIT…. I mean those chaps KEPT firing bullets at alien monsters KNOWING that it wasn't going to do ANYTHING… Now THAT'S discipline.

Dark Knights And Bloody Dawns03 May 2013 11:12 a.m. PST

Do you mean these guys?

BigNickR03 May 2013 10:22 p.m. PST

I too was excited until I saw these weren't 28mm…

tkdguy04 May 2013 2:23 a.m. PST

I have a few 25 mm UNIT soldiers, including the Brigadier and Sgt. Benton. These guys would make a great addition.

Gennorm04 May 2013 2:32 a.m. PST

Just need some 1/72 Sontarans.
