Hi,

Had some time today at work to let my mind wander. In addition to sketching out some ideas about the size of my table and what kind of collections I would have in a perfect wargaming / ideal wargaming world, I started thinking about my wargaming bucket list.

*Did a brief search of topics to make sure that this hasn't been discussed already.

Without spending too much time on this, here's a draft of my wargaming bucket list.

- attend one SOA Battle Day
- attend Historicon as well as SALUTE
- have an article or three published (and well regarded and received) in the new Miniature Wargames and or Slingshot
- running a game at LITTLE WARS (and perhaps receiving an award)
- finding a set of rules that I'm completely happy with

Raid on St. Nazaire
SAGA
LotR
Pulp
Battle of the Five Armies
Star Wars -- something involving all those collectible minis
Space Hulk
Little Big Horn

and the list just gets deeper and dustier …

FusilierDan01 May 2013 5:52 p.m. PST

Attend a convention for more than just a day trip and play in 2-3 big games.

PzGeneral01 May 2013 7:46 p.m. PST

Since I have a sever case of "Oooo, Shiney", it prohibits me from having a gaming bucket list.

Agesilaus01 May 2013 8:50 p.m. PST

War of 1812. Heavy involvement.
Canada, Chesapeake and New Orleans fronts.
Its the perfect little war for 1 to 1 gaming.
I would also like to get a posse to do some board megagames, like Europa.
Probably some ACW also.

McWong7301 May 2013 11:17 p.m. PST

Salute and Historicon, no question.

Rudi the german02 May 2013 2:17 a.m. PST

First campaign Bucket list done.
Complete Adennes campaign in 25mm, SYW campaign in 30mm, Coalition wars campaign in 15mm, ACW campaign in 15mm, Waterloo in 20mm and 15mm. War of 1812 in 25mm, 1. – 8. Crusade in 25mm. Punic was in 15mm, Charlemange campaign in 25mm, Norman invasion. Campaign and Hastings big battle and sterling bridge in 25mm, Otto the Great campaign in 25mm, Kursk/ Prohokahvk in 25mm (maybe the 2ed largest project of all), Crimiran War campaign with Balaklava in 25mm, Siege of Malta in 25mm, Siege of Jerusalem in 25mm, Siege of Konstantinople in 25mm. Notche Triste Mexico in 15mm, Charlons Fields in 15mm, Wurzburg WWIII (my biggest project up to date with 300 25mm tank) Yalu campaign, WWI naval campaign in 1: 3000, Falklank campaign in 1:3000, World war III in 1:300.Quebeck in 25mm, Ridgeway in 25mm.
And these are only the campaigns played… Not counting the single games…

On my left to do list is … Meaning painted.. Not yet played..
FPW: Weissenburg in setup and some figures missing for St.Privat Mars La tour. ( Scale 150 Men is one Figure in 25mm)

Next Project is Koeningsgraetz in same scale…

And one Project I am struggling with is the Armada Battle in one on one in 25mm. I have all the ships in 25mm but not a good set of rules…

That about everything I have to say about that…
:)))))

Timmo uk02 May 2013 4:03 a.m. PST

ASAP – Start WW2 using AB miniatures for the forthcoming TFL set Chain of Command.
Next years new project will be 1/1200 Napoleonic ships using GHQ and Langton, for War of 1812.

In the meantime there is masses to add to my current collections. One day I would love to attend Historicon but I've not even made my local show, Salute, for the last three years so I'm not holding my breath for a visit across the pond just yet.

Martin Rapier02 May 2013 5:14 a.m. PST

I've already done most of the things I'd hoped to do, but I am quite task oriented:) There a few more things:

Gravelotte-St Privat and Sedan
Finally write the prefect set of rules for WW2 company, battalion and brigade level engagements respectively.
Actually go on a battlefield tour of Flanders. Perhaps when the kids have finally left.
Go to Tankfest.

richarDISNEY02 May 2013 7:20 a.m. PST

Attending Origins and Gen Con.
Doing a WW2 tank battle in a city in 28mm.
A Redcoat raid on a Pirate town in 28mm.

All while drinking copious amounts of beer

Rudi the german02 May 2013 7:22 a.m. PST

Give me a sign, when you coming over.. I will be your personal guide for Flanders, Bulge and Waterloo… and than we play FPW.

Greetings

Just having fun.

Might do Historicon or Gen Con some day for kicks, but if I never do, I'll have no regrets over it.

Personal logo John the OFM Supporting Member of TMP02 May 2013 5:39 p.m. PST

The Wyoming Massacre WAS on my bucket list, but I will be running it again for the 3rd or 4th time on our Club's Holy Day of Obligation, Founders Day, May the 25th.

ScottS02 May 2013 8:59 p.m. PST

Finally paint all those Napoleonic Russians…

Garand02 May 2013 9:25 p.m. PST
