Some …person.. in Bulgaria hacked into my yahoo account about ten minutes ago. Fortunately I was sitting sculpting in front of my computer and got a notification email immediately to tell me that my email had been opened from another country.
I've changed my login, but that took a couple of minutes and spam email may have been sent out already, so if you appear to get an email from me in the next day or two don't open it unless it says NOT SPAM in the title.

To be honest these are utterly par for the course; Yahoo's email system has been a hacker's playground all year, which they've utterly failed to address – I get email several times a week from compromised Yahoo accounts, and have done for months….

I have noticed a lot of Yahoo accounts hacked as well, including my brotherīs, who managed to have it done twice. I changed my password to a random series of upper and lower case letters, along with a couple of numbers. It isnīt hacker-proof, but hopefully it will confound them long enough that they will not want to waste time with it.

My Yahoo account got hacked a few years back. Changed to gmail – so far so good.

same as Dark Knights, fortunately I have a spare gmail account

I share the same experience with AlexK – switched from yahoo to gmail and never looked back.

BTW, a long plain English phrase like "Ihategamesworkshopproducts" used as a password is both easier to remember and harder to crack than a short series of random letters, numbers and symbols like "D2!%RF&95", as explained in this XKCD comic: xkcd.com/936

Sorry to anyone who got spam this afternoon.

Yahoo was reliable for me until today. I do have gmail and hotmail accounts, but use each for different spheres of life.

Thanks taskforce58 that's a tremendously useful idea, must do that with all passwords from now on.

That's what my Yahoo account is for. I get FoG groups and Lone Star Historical Min. anything else is Spam.
