I've just updated my site with details of my cheap battlefield project. I put together a game building scenery on the cheap, less than £10.00 GBP for the whole thing!

Details are on my website here germy.co.uk
and a link to the page showing the various articles is here germy.co.uk/wargaming.html

This was the battlefield created
link
and I made Fences, Bushes, Trees and a cheap flying saucer:

I think that tuned out pretty well.

Those are some great ideas for terrain. I'm looking at making a great deal of fence for my zombie games, thanks for the heads up on the material.

vikingtim01 May 2013 4:44 a.m. PST

thank you for sharing this. The end result is very good, and has given me some ideas.

Good effects

Very nice and effective.I really like the log piles!

Great stuff (as ever) Germy.

I've stalled in the past on my mesh fenses after trying glue and being a bit unimpressed. Will have to try some fine wire as you have.

Germy Bugger Fezian01 May 2013 7:00 a.m. PST

Even if I had glued the fences to the uprights I would probably have gone back and added the wire for effect.

This way I got the effect without sticking my fingers together :)

Excellent work Germy,
May I ask which variety of poundshop provided the birds nest? I quite like the idea of using that brush within my vietnam set up.

Germy Bugger Fezian01 May 2013 7:24 a.m. PST

Think it was Poundland, but you know what those stores are like. You often find some products are only in store for a week or so, never to be seen again :(

But I'm sure there will be something similar in any pound shop you try.

Tango India Mike01 May 2013 7:54 a.m. PST

Yes, I know indeed, that's why I thought best to ask – we have a wide variety to choose from here. Rather than a wild goose chase I can now check in Poundland. Thank you.

Love the 2mm Sci-fi !

That mesh will do double duty for flooring if you decide to get into making Space Hulk inspired decks. (I used a sheet of overhead lighting grate and screen door mesh for my budget project.)

Some great ideas, thanks for sharing.

I hadn't thought of Poundland as a source of materials, but clearly I need to do so!

Where would a USAsian acquire one of those frisbees? I can find eBay auctions but they only ship to Europe.

Stewbags07 May 2013 4:58 p.m. PST
