A new comic book coming out in May that's pretty much a must buy for me. The cover is worth the price of admission alone: "Launching this May, Half Past Danger sees Mooney, a longtime IDW artist, step up as writer AND artist as he tells a story of Tommy "Irish" Flynn, a U.S. Marine who finds himself on a remote South Pacific island in the midst of World War 2 with Nazis on the left of him and dinosaurs on the right. By his side are the unlikeliest of allies, but with those kind of odds Flynn can't be too picky." link Also, here's the official blog with several examples of artwork: halfpastdanger.com Seriously, that's some amazing art. You know, I have a bunch of toy dinos and some Nazi miniatures, along with some recently completed jungle terrain. Looks like I will be breaking it out in the near future. |

Since the adventures will essentially write themselves, it's the art that will sell the project. I'm not completely sold here. The art for the cover looks great, but the art for the interior doesn't thrill me. |

Sorry to disagree with you, but the interior art really sold it for me. Especially with examples like this:

The first issue of the comic is out now. What can I say? I like it. A lot. This could turn outto be my favorite series since Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Obviously we have to wait and see where the series goes from here, but it has won my money. Hope the next few issues are as good as the first. |
