Howdy, We've started the playtest of a mini-campaign for Tannenberg in 1914. Campaign area bordered by the Vistula, Niemen, and Narew Rivers. Map shown below.
Just getting started on Turn 1, August 16, 1914 – Meeting engagement in Soldau between German XX Corps and Russian 3rd Cavalry Division. Based on scouting the lastest reports indicate: German Corps in Lyck Russian Corps in Suwalki German Cav in Gumbinnen Russian Cav in Stallupoen. The campaign is bathtubbed with a battalion(+) representing a division. Battles will be fought in miniature using CD-ToB. More to come
Ponder on,
JAS

Hi, I just took a good at your wonderfull map. One remark: I would not allow movement from loetzen to rossel and germdauen. The is the masurische seenplatte which was not used by the russians for the attack as they did not know a safe passage. Greetings |

Good afternoon, The commander of the Russian 3rd Cavalry Division decided (wisely I suspect) not to engage the advancing German Corps and withdrew south to Mlawa. The German XX Corps holds Soldau. In the meantime, the current plan is to play a training game next Sunday, just for fun. Ponder on, JAS |

Howdy, On Turn 2, the first major battle of the mini-campaign is upon us. The German XX and XVII Corps collide with the Russian 1st and 6th Corps in the vicinity of Mlawa. More to come
