Actas, the studio the created Girls und Panzer, have announced a GuP movie for 2014.

There is no news of a 2nd season this fall, but in September Actas will release a special episode showing the match against Anzio, the conclusion of which was shown at the end of episode 7.

and one of you 15mm sculptors get busy on Japanese schoolgirl tank commanders !

(words I never thought I'd use together…)

jpattern230 Apr 2013 10:03 a.m. PST

And make sure they're 15mm from their feet to their OH MY GOD THEIR EYES WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR EYES?!?!?

Tom Bryant30 Apr 2013 10:08 a.m. PST

15mm Tank Commanders only? Shoot, do a whole line of combat Japanese Anime schoolgirls! That would be neat, particularly if they are in the right national uniforms. They'd be great for Flames Of War and the tweakily brittle Battlefront Fanboys.

CraigH30 Apr 2013 10:09 a.m. PST

but there is the issue. jpattern2 – do you measure to the top or bottom of their eye ? Even in 15mm, that has to be at least a 2mm variation.

rvandusen30 Apr 2013 10:34 a.m. PST

If a 15mm manufacturer were to produce panzer schoolgirls, it would be the only time I attempted to paint eyes on a figure that small.

I saw a picture someone posted online of a new character, possibly for the movie. It looked like the back inside cover of an anime magazine. The girl looked like she was wearing an Imperial Japanese inspired tunic so I think a new rival team will have Japanese tanks ( that match sounds easy!)

Bleeped text? Anime is just wierd!

Okay, Jpat…that one was excellent.

Mjkerner…I agree with you in the main, but there is enough terrific Anime' out there to justify looking out for it.

The entire Ghost in the Shell enterprise and Last Exile are top notch and there are plenty of others out there too!

Most 15s that have eyes painted on look like anime characters anyway.

Nice!

That's good news, rather liked that bizarre little series. Shame still no season 2 announcement, though.

Sturgeon's Law applies to anime just like anything else – but yeah, the rare gems are worth the effort of hunting down. Always check for reviews or synopses for anything new first, though – the whole genre is a minefield of potential horridness, especially the stuff derived from computer games.

And yes, I am thinking of School Days when I say that. Shudder. Such an innocent title.

I'm ever so slowly seeing 28mm figures that with minor conversions that will work, a 15mm set and I might buy them.
