A while back I was just browsing thru a few wargaming and I came upon an interesting pencil and paper game a gentleman had organized where the players take the parts of being colonels of regiments in the British Empire army right about the American Rev period.

The point of the game was not to actually fight miniatures battles but put yourself in the role of becoming a successful colonel. Regiments were rated by dice roll initialy but could improve with training and more money spent on them.

Now I cannot find it anymore and I'd love to take another look at this one.

It reminded me of an old paper and pencil game we used to play set in the time period of the Four Musketeers of France, En Garde. That had been a lot of fun.

Thanks to anyone who can show me where this current game is located!

I think you are referring to a game by Jim Wallman. Go to his website for his free wargame rules

jimwallman.org.uk/wargame

and see the game entitled 'Over theHills and Far Away'.
