The figures are Old Glory 1st editions mixed with Sash and Saber. |

Very nice. I thought some of them looked like sash and saber. I like the officer in front. And the stands/bases are really good. I am still trying to get the hang of basing figures like that. Most of my orders stuff is just the dip into flock method. Matthew |

I was using Vallejo Sandy Paste that comes in the 200 ml./ 6.75 fl. oz. which dries a light grey color, but have recently switched to the Vallejo Brown Earth that has pigment mixed in with it. Just simply apply it, then set in your stone, gravel and such, let dry and go from thier. I just place some random glue spots and then use one color of static grass shake exess off and repeat working lower to higher ending with the tufts. And yes I like the sides of the bases to have the ground effect on the sides of them(dirt effect), other than the clean look for my tabled figures. |

Nicely done, and the basing sets them off perfectly, they certainly look the part. Thanks for posting, its always nice to see well painted ACW figures. |

Thank you for the basing info. Right now I am using ballast from woodland scenics. It seems hit or miss on how the stands turn out. I look into the paste. Matthew |

Nice painting and basing! Also a good example of how different miniatures mix with others despite size differences. I didn't really notice at first until I read that you mixed them. |

The Old Glory's with the sicilian caps, bases, had to be ground down as low as possible to get them into a more suitable hiegth dimension. Other than that, I will add that they are all hot glued down on the base while it being flat and not textured with texture being added after the figure applied. The OG'S with the slouch and packs were fine in this area of casting. People are differrent sizes even in the same geographical area, the most noticable to me in sizing different manufactured figures in the same regiment is the size of the weapons and accoutrements is usually personaly what will grab my eye. |

In the picture most of the OG's castings have thier weapons raised more verticaly than the S&S's that are raised at the but stock and lay more over the shoulder, this give's them a much smaller appearance. |

like the troops in frock coat, don`t see too many in peoples collections |

Painter Jim, I agree, it's the weapons and accoutrements that stand out more if they are different in size. |
